Depois do últimpo post sobre a My Mind´s Eye, recebemos muitos emails a perguntar como se fazia a casinha. Pois bem, como estamos em época Natalícia, aqui vai um muito completo tutorial!
After our last post about My Mind's Eye we received a lot of emails asking how the house was built. Well since it is the holidays, here goes a complete tutorial!

- 1 peça com 17,5x25 cm (fundo exterior)

Bege cardstock
- 1 piece 17,5x25 cm (exterior bottom)
- 1 piece 14,2x21,3 cm (interior bottom)
- 2 pieces 23,2x14 cm (back and front inside)
- 2 pieces 23,2x16 cm (inside laterals)

- Cutting board, cutting knife
- PVA glue
- 3D foam pads
- Contact glue

Como fazer * How to proceed
Comece por cortar ao mesmo tempo as duas folhas inteiras com a referência ST1070 (as folhas que têm bolinhas brancas). Corte primeiro 14,5 e depois o que sobra fica como está. As duas peças com 14,5 vai depois cortar ao comprimento para ficar com duas peças de 14,5x23,5 e as outras devem ficar com 15,5x25 cm.
Begin by cutting the two whole sheets of paper ST1070 (blue with white polka dots). You have to cut both of them at the same time so make a firts cut at 14,5 cm and leave the rest as it is. The two pieces with 14,5 cut lenghtwise to stay with 14,5x23,5cm and the remaining two with 15,5x25 cm.
Pegue depois em duas peças de cartão com 15x22 cm. Vamos dividir o lado mais pequeno, de uma das peças, em duas partes (7,5 cm cada) e marcar o centro. Do lado mais comprido (22 cm) medir 7,5 cm de ambos os lados e traçar uma diagonal do ponto central superior até este ponto, de ambos os lados. Repetir este processo para a outra peça. Com a ajuda de um x-acto e régua de metal, cortar pelos traços, de modo a ficar com duas peças bicudas.
take two pieces of heavy chipboard with 15x22 cm. With the help of a ruller, divide the small side into equal parts of 7,5 cm each. Then mark along thelonger sides the same 7,5 cm and trace a dagonal line. with the help of a cutting knife, cut along these lines so you end up getting two pieces as you see above.
Para montar a casa vai necessitar das duas peças que acabou de cortar (peças B), da peça com 15x22 cm (peça A) e das duas peças com 21,5x14,5 (peças C). Disponha-as como pode ver na imagem. Dê cola de contacto normal nos perfis onde tem a seta e passa esta cola para a base de cartão ou para as laterais onde tem um X. Deixe secar cerca de 5 minutos e monte a caixa que deve ficar como vê em cima.
To assemble the house you are going to need both of the pieces you have just cut (B), one piece with 15x22 cm (A) and two pieces with 21,5x14,5 (C). Display them as you see on the image. Apply contact glue on the boarders of the chipboard that have an arrow and passa them to the base or to the side where you finf a cross. Leave it to dry for 5 minutes and assemble the box so it stays as you can see above.
Pegue nas duas peças de cartão que sobram e colocando cola no perfil mais comprido da peça mais pequena passe a cola para o interior da outra (lado com o mesmo tamanho). Deixe secar e cole. Aplique depois fita cola kraft dentro e fora desta união para que o telhado fique com uma forma mais sólida.
Picck the two pieces left of heavy chipboard and apply glue to the long edge of the smaller piece and pass it into the inside of the other (side with the same length). Leave it to dry and glue them together. Apply some kraft tape inside and out to give the roof more resistance.
Para forrar a casinha (vamos usar sempre cola de encadernação para este efeito): deite cola na peça de cartolina bege para o fundo exterior e coloque-a no sítio. Esta deve ficar excedente a todos os lados. Corte os cantos e vire para cima o excesso de papel.
We are going to use bookbinding glue to cover the house with paper. Begin with the piece for the outside bottom (bege cardstock) and apply glue all over it. Glue the leftover bits around all four sides to the side of the house as seen on the photo.
Coloque de seguida o papel nas laterais da casa (papel com bolinhas brancas com 15,5x25 cm). Dê cola no papel, um de cada vez e coloque-o de modo a que fique a sobrar em cima e de ambos os lados. Corte os cantos onde necessário, “bata” o papel para dentro e para as laterais e passe a dobradeira nos perfis.
Glue the blue with white polka dots paper measuring 15,5x25 cm to the sides of the house. Apply glue on the back of the paper, one at a time, and place it so you have leftover paper up and botttom. Cut the corners and glue the remaininhg paper to the sides.
De seguida pegue nas peças com 14,5x23,5 cm, que vão ser aplicadas na parte da frente e de trás da casinha. Dê cola no papel e aplique-o sabendo que este deve ficar a sobrar somente em cima. Apare o papel e vire o excedente para dentro.
You are now going to need the papers with 14,5x23,5 cm that are going to the front and back of the house. Cut the excess paper on the edge and glue the paper to the inside of the house.
Para forrar o interior, aplique primeiro as laterais interiores, sabendo que estas ficam excedentes para o fundo e lados. Pegue depois nas peças para a frente e traseiras interiores. Corte o papel em cima de modo a que este fique com a mesma inclinação das peças em bico e aplique-o, um de cada lado, devendo ficar papel excedente em baixo. Por último coloque o papel no fundo interior. A base da casinha está agora forrada.
To cover the inside, first apply the laterals, knowing that you will have excess paper on the bottom and on the sides. Then do the same thing on the back and front, knowing that you will have to cut the paper a little bit smaller then the edge at the top. Last of all place the paper at the inside bottom.
Para o telhado começamos por cortar a folha ST1028 em uma peça com 27x13,5 cm e outra com 27x14,5 (peças para o exterior) e a folha ST1080 em uma peça com 23,5x12,5 e outra com 23,5x11 cm (peças para o interior do telhado).
For the roof, from the ST1028 paper, cut a piece with 27x13,5 cm and another with 27x14,5 cm (for the outside) and from ST1080 one piece with 23,5x12,5 cm and one with 23,5x11 cm.
Comece por aplicar a folha maior para o exterior. Vire o excesso de papel para dentro e aplique a outra peça do outro lado do telhado. Forre depois o telhado por dentro começando pela peça de papel maior, que fica a forrar o meio do telhado e depois aplique a peça mais pequena no lado oposto. O telhado está assim forrado.
Start with the larger piece of paper and apply it to the outside of the roof. Turn the leftover paper to the inside and to the fold of the roof. Make the other side afterwrads. After this apply the other papers to the inside of the roof.
Coloque almofadas 3D na pequena peça de papel rectangular e aplique-a na frente da casinha. Cole o título com cola PVA. Decore o resto da casinha como gostar mais!
Apply some 3D foam pads to the small piece of paper and put it on the front of the house. to the same thing with the title . Decorate the house with buttons or others things! Have fun!
Quando abrir a caixa por dentro há uma serie de bolsos e etiquetas. Pus dobradiças em todos os bolsos para que as etiquetas possam ter retiradas com facilidade.
