Olá bom dia!

Hoje partilhamos consigo um mini projeto onde pode aprender a personalizar uma simples caixa de metal para oferecer bolachas caseiras.

Precisa de cartolina de 3 cores, uma folha da Coleção Place in Time da Graphic 45 (4500614), fio trançado, botões, um doily, uma caixa de metal, uma forminha das bolachas, fita vermelha e alguma perícia  a desenhar folhas de azevinho! Não é difícil!

Neste caso usámos um cortante antigo da Sizzix o Originals Die - Holly Berries & Leaves.

Christmas Card Box - 2ª parte

Aqui estamos de volta para a 2ª parte do projeto "Christmas Card Box".

Para forrar a caixa corte duas tiras de papel 10x30cm e uma mais pequena com 10x6cm (o comprimento do papel 12x12 não é suficiente para dar a volta inteira) e cole às paredes laterais da caixa com cola branca.

Corte mais duas tiras 8,5x30cm e cubra as paredes interiores. Cole o quadrado para rematar tudo. Uma vez pronta cole a caixa à tira de cartão forrada com uma pistola de cola quente.

To cover the box cut 2 strips of paper 10x30cm and a smaller piece 10x6cm (the length of the 12 by 12 sheets isn’t enough to go all around) and wrap them around the exterior walls of the box adhering them with white glue. 

Cut two more strips of paper 8,5x30cm and cover the interior walls. Glue the bottom square to finish it off. Once the box is covered adhere it to the long strip of chipboard with a hot glue gun. 

Estamos prontos para forrar a caixa montada do lado de fora.Corte dois quadrados 15,5x15cm para o topo e fundo e uma peça 8,5x15cm para forrar o lado mais alto e uma peça 7,5x15cm para forrar o lado mais baixo. 

Irá precisar de cortar um outro quadrado com o papel dos números para a pala de dentro.

Esta peça mede 15x15cm.

Now we’re ready to cover the outside of the mounted box. Cut two squares 15.5x15cm high for the top and bottom and one piece 8.5x15cm  for the larger side and one piece 7.5x15 to cover the slightly shorter side.

You’ll need another square (numbers sheet) to cover the inner flap.

This piece measures 15x15 cms.

Depois de tudo colado, deverá parecer assim se o esticar.

After everything is glued down, this is what it’ll look like on the outside if it were stretched out.

Quando abrir a caixa por dentro há uma serie de bolsos e etiquetas. Pus dobradiças em todos os bolsos para que as etiquetas possam ter retiradas com facilidade.

The inside of the box once it’s opened has a series of pockets with tags and journaling spots. I added hinges to all of the pockets that hold the tags so it’s easier to pull them out and slide them back in.

Utilizei a folha de die cuts e stickers da colecção para decorar os bolsos e etiquetas.
Passei a esponja com tinta por tudo para cobrir o branco do interior do papel. Usei as cores Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany, Pumice Stone and Antique Linen.

I used the sheet of die cuts and the stickers from the collection to decorate these pockets and tags. Everything was edged with ink to cover the white core of the paper. I used Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany, Pumice Stone and Antique Linen throughout.

A caixa bege tem uma roseta a decorar 658256.

Se tivesse um tostão por cada vez que a rosetta rasgou quando estava a dobrá-la estava rica! Como a necessidade é a mãe de toda a invenções descobri que se colar uma tira de fita-cola opaca depois de cortar a roseta, reforça e já não rasga. Esta fita cola é muito resistente mas maleável o suficiente para poder dobrar à vontade.

One of the boxes is decorated with a paper rosette 658256 

If I had a penny for each time a paper rosette broke on me while folding it I’d be a rich girl. So necessity being the mother of all invention and I found that after cutting the rosette but before folding the accordion, putting a piece of opaque tape on the back will give it more resistance and won’t tear along the dashes. This tape is strong but subtle enough to let it fold nicely.

I made the tulle frill on the rosette by running a thread and pulling it to form a circle.

As flores foram compradas mas poderia as ter feito com o cortante do Tim Holtz 658261.

Passei Stickles em prata (silver) nas bordas para lhe dar um ar mais festivo.

The white poinsettias were bought.I got lazy but could have cut them from 658261.

The edges were sparkled up with a bit of silver Stickles.

Christmas Card Box - 1ª parte

Aproxima-se AQUELA época do ano. A época em que os dias não têm horas suficientes para fazer-mos tudo que queremos. Uma altura do ano muito atarefada mas também linda para nós que gostamos de fazer “coisas”. Quando penso no Natal a primeira coisa que me vem à cabeça são os postais. Ainda mantenho a tradição de enviar pelo correio as nossas saudações das festas. Nem sempre são recíproco mas sei que são muito valorizados e apreciados por quem os recebe. É tão agradável receber no monte de correspondência aquele envelope especial.

O projecto que tenho para vós hoje é precisamente isto. Dez cartões para enviar aquelas pessoas especiais e uma linda caixa para guardar os que receber. (Eu nunca deito fora os cartões velhos, as imagens são óptimas para reciclar e fazer novos cartões ou até mini-albuns…talvez um próximo tutorial????)

Bem, aqui vai porque estamos todos ocupados e com muito que fazer não é?

It’s THAT time of year again. The time of year when days don’t have enough hours to get everything done. A busy but beautiful time especially when you love to create “things” like we do. When I think of Christmas and crafts the first thing that comes to mind are presents and cards. I still keep the tradition of sending off in the mail our holiday greetings. It’s not always reciprocal but I know they’re greatly appreciated by those who receive them. It’s so nice to see that special, festive envelope in the mailbox. 

The project I have to show you today is just that. Ten cards for those special people and a box to hold them. Once they’re all sent off you can keep the cards you received in the box. (I never throw my cards away, the images on the front are great to recycle and make new cards or mini albums…. Maybe a tutorial next time?????)

Well, here goes because we’re all busy got stuff to do right?

Criar a Caixa
O formato da caixa foi inspirado no design das caixas da Graphic 45 Staples e se não quiser fazer uma caixa de raiz poderá sempre forrar uma dos muitos tamanhos e adaptar os cartões para que caibam.

A caixa mede 16.5 X 16.5 e 9 cms de alto e todos os cartões são 14 X 14 cms.

Comecem por cortar quatro peças de cartão (com 2mm espessura) 7 X 15.8 e uma peça 16 X 16 cms. Isto irá contruir a caixa que leva os cartões.

Creating the Box
The box’s shape and design was inspired by the Graphic45 staples’ box and if you don’t want to make one from scratch like this one just cover one of their many sizes and adapt the card sizes to fit.

This box measures 16.5 X 16.5 by 9 cms high and the cards are all 14 X 14 cms.

Start by cutting four pieces of chipboard (2mm thick) 7 X 15.8 cms and one piece 16 X 16 cms. This will be the inside box that will hold the cards.

Com cola de contacto adhira as peças e ponha de lado até secar bem.

Using contact glue, join the sides to the bottom piece and set it aside to dry. 

Corte peças de cartão com as seguintes medidas: 2 peças 16 X 16 cms, e uma peça de cada 8 .5 X 16 , 8 X 16, 15¼ X 16 cms. Isto será a base e a cobertura da caixa.

Cut pieces of chipboard the following sizes . 2 pieces 16X16, one of each of these sizes 8.5X16, 8X16, 15¼X16. This will be the box’s top and inner flap. 

Com tiras de tyvek, une a peças todas para criar uma tira comprida.

Esta sequência deverá ser a seguinte: uma peça das 16 X 16, a peça com 8.5 X 16, a segunda peça 16 X 16, a peça que mede 8 x 16 e por ultimo, a peça 15¼ X 16.

Using strips of tyvek join these pieces together to form a long strip.

The sequence for this should be: one of the 16X16 pieces, the 8.5X16 one, the second 16 X 16 piece, the 8X16, and last one the 15 ¼ X 16.

Deverá ter esta aparência, pronto para forrar.

It should look like this, ready to be covered. 

Forre esta longa sequência com tela vermelha ou bege e adira os pequenos discos de íman.

Cover this long sequence with canvas and add the magnets.

Depois de seco deverá ter este aspecto (fiz duas caixas, uma forrada a tela bege e outra a vermelho). 

It should look like this after it’s dry (I made two boxes, one with beige canvas and another with red canvas). 

Corte duas peças de papel da colecção 15.5 X 30 cms e com cola branca adira ao cartão.

Cut two pieces of paper from the collection 15.5 X 30 cms and glue them with white craft glue.

Esta caixa é a forrada a bege...

This is the beige covered one...

 E esta é a forrada a vermelho…. Já com tudo colado.

And this is the red covered one…. already glued.

Esta é a caixa vermelha depois de dobrada no sítio. Os ímanes deverão segurá-la.

This is the red box after it’s been folded into place. The magnets should hold it in place.

Cole a fita nas duas pontas.

Add the ribbon to both ends.

Ladies Diary box and mini-album

 A nova colecção da Graphic45 é de facto muito feminina! Por isso tínhamos mesmo de fazer um projecto digno de um toucador feminino! Este projecto é um dois em um, pois pode ser usado apenas como caixa mas escondido no seu interior está um delicado mini-álbum para guardar todos os segredos de uma senhora.....
Ponto de partida: uma moldura 25x25 cm de caixa alta, um bloco de folhas Ladies Diary de 12x12 (4500512) e glossy accents!

Graphic45 new line is in fact very feminine! So we decided we really had to make a project worthy of any ladies dresser! This project is a two in one, because it can be used just as a box but hidden inside of it you can find a delicate mini-album to keep all the secrets of a fair lady....
Starting point: a 25x25 cm frame, a 12" Ladies Diary paper pad (4500512) and glossy accents!

A tampa é composta por duas partes: uma base de cartão forrada a papel e o próprio vidro da moldura onde foi colada com glossy accents uma folha de papel. Antes de a colar, recortamos a linda silhueta de uma verdadeira senhora!

The lid has two different parts: a cardboard lined with paper and on top of it the glass from the frame where we glued with glossy accents a sheet of paper. Before that we cut this beautiful lady silhouette.

  

Detalhes da frente e do topo da caixa onde foram colocadas algumas flores para dar mais dimensão ao projecto. A frase na frente da caixa é sem sombra de dúvida uma forte afirmação!


Details from the front and the top of the box where we have placed some flowers to give more dimension to the project. Also the sentence on the front is a real statement!

Then we slide the cover and.....

Desenhamos um mini-álbum que fosse exactamente da medida do interior da moldura! Com capas de cartolina bristol e forrado a tela bege, este pequeno álbum não tem mais do que 14 cm mas não deixa por isso de ser verdadeiramente delicioso!

We designed a mini-album that was exactly the size of the inside of the frame. With covers made out of chipboard and covered in beige bookbinding cloth and with no more than 14 cm it is truly delicious!

A vista interior da caixa, quando se retira a tampa e o mini-album. Nenhum pormenor foi deixado ao acaso!

Quando se abre a capa do álbum, o seu interior está recheado de pequenos bolsos, cuidadosamente recheados com bloquinhos, cartões de visita e de anotações.

When you open the cover of the album you will find that the inside is filled with small pockets, carefully filled with small notepads, personal cards and note jotters.
