Para a Árvore de Natal * For the Christmas tree

Não são lindas estas botinhas? Feitas com feltro e recheadas com chocolates ficam lindas penduradas na árvore de Natal. Por isso, vamos meter mãos ao trabalho?

Aren't these stockings lovely? Made out of felt and filled with chocolates or candies they look very nice hanging from the Christmas tree. So, let's get to work?

Vai precisar de * You are going to need:

• Big Shot Starter Kit, 657000

• Sizzix Bigz Die - Stocking Stuffer, 658262

• Feltro: vermelho, vermelho escuro e branco * Felt: Red, dark red and white

• Fio de bordar, bakers twine agulha * Embroidery yarn, bakers twine, needle

• Enchimento de polyester * Polyester filling

• Máquina de costura, fio vermelho * Sewing machine, red thread (optional)

Como proceder * How to proceed

1. Corte duas partes de bota nas 3 cores de feltro com a ajuda da Big shot * Die-cut two stocking halves of red, dark red and white felt.

2. Cosa as peças vermelho escuro e brancas no lugar com ponto de cobertor. Use fio de bordar de 3 linhas para este efeito.Sew dark red and white felt pieces in place with blanket stiches. Use three stands of

embroidery yarn.

3. Com a ajuda de uma máquina de costura, cosa as duas metades de bota uma à outra com ponto zig zag, direito com direito e virando no final ou então cosa à mão com ponto de cobertor (avesso com avesso). Sew stocking halves together by either hand-sewing blanket stiches around the edges (wrong sides together) or alternatively machine sewing pieces together with narrow zig-zag (right sides together, turn around after sewing).

4. Encha metade da bota com enchimento de polyester. Fill half of the stocking with polyester filling.

5. Encha o resto com chocolates. Adicione twine vermelho e branco para pendurar na árvore. Fill with chocolates. Add red and white bakers twine to hang.

Nutcraker Sweet Shadow Box e Mini Album - 1ª Parte

1. Pinte a caixa com a tinta acrílica verde, todas as arestas e margens das superfícies externas e dobras e margens das superfícies internas.

1. Paint the box with acrilic paint not forgetting the edges and external margins and sides, inside and out.

2. Recorte papéis para cobrir todas as superfícies, com cerca de 0,5 cm de margem em relação à dimensão da superfície a tapar. Cole esses papeis com cola ou fita cola de dupla face.

2. Cut some papers to cover all the surfaces with half a centimeter more then the size of the surface itself. Glue the papers in place.

3. Recorte um papel com a forma de cortina aberta e 3 semi-círculos para fazer o topo da cortina do palco. Aplique cola com glitter dourado a simular os cordões decorativos da cortina. Recorte os laços e cole sobre a cortina. Cubra os laços com Glossy Accents e deixe secar.

3. Cut one paper in the shape of an opened curtain and 3 semi-circles to make the top of the stage curtain. Apply some golden glitter glue to make believe for the cords of the curtain. Cut out the ribbons and glue them to the curtain. Cover with glossy accents and let them dry.

4. Recorte a imagem do Quebra Nozes e aplique numa das laterais com almofadas 3D.

4. Cut out the Nutcracker image and apply it to the side using 3D foam pads.

5. Decore com Chipboard Die Cut Tags e o fundo da caixa com uma imagem recortada e colada. Aplique um puxador na parte de cima da caixa.

5. Decorate with the chipboard die cut tags from the line and for the bottom of the box use one of the images from the papers. Apply the knob on the upper part of the box.

Para fazer a capa* To make the cover:
1. Corte duas peças de cartão cinza com 1,5mm de espessura com 19,5 cm de largura por 20,5 cm de altura para a capa frente e trás.

1. Cut two pieces of 1,5 mm chipboard measuring 19,5cm by 20,5 cm for the covers.

2. Corte uma peça do mesmo cartão cinza com 2,7cm de largura por 20,50 cm de altura para a lombada.

2. Cut one piece of the same chipboard with 2,7cmx20,5cm for the spine.

3. Vai precisar de: 1 folha de cartolina A3 de cor lilás, Papéis da coleção Nutcraker Sweet, Chipboard Die- Cuts 2, Cola e Almofadas 3D.

3. You are going to need: 1 piece of lilac cardstock A3 size, papers from Nutcracker sweet and chipboard die cuts 2 as well, glue and 3D foam pads.

4. Usando cola branca cole as 3 peças de cartão à cartolina. Deixe uma margem suficiente para poder encadernar a sua capa.

4. Using white glue, glue the three pieces of chipboard to the A3 cardstock. Leave a margin all around so you can turn it in.

5. Depois recorte papéis da coleção ao seu gosto para poder forrar o exterior e o interior da capa.

5. Cut the papers as you like to cover both the inside and outside of the cover.

6. Decore a parte da frente da capa com a imagem do relógio e da bailarina e com Chipboard die cuts. A bailarina está aplicada com almofadas 3D.

6. Decorate the front of the cover with the image of the ballerina, the clock and the chipboard die cuts. The Ballerina is applied with 3D foam pads.

Para fazer as páginas do álbum corte cada uma das cartolinas (5 cores) nas seguintes dimensões: 38cm de largura por 20 de altura. Divida e dobre essas folhas a meio. Cada cartolina assim dobrada irá fazer um total de 20 páginas (4 de cada cor).

To make the album pages, cut each one of the 5 cardstock papers with 38x20cm. Fold and score each one of the pages in half. This way you will have a total of 20 pages (4 each color).

Estas folhas vão ser cosidas e posteriormente coladas à lombada. Comece por cortar um pedaço da capa de trás do bloco de folhas da coleção, com 8cm de largura por 20cm de altura. (Usei a capa do bloco porque é mais grossa e mais resistente que qualquer papel da coleção e já está decorado).

These pages are going to be sewn and after glued to the spine of the cover. Start by cutting a piece of the back of the paper pad with 8x20 cm (I used it because it is more resistent then any of the papers and it is already decorated).

Em seguida com um punch decore a margem de ambos os lados. 

Afterwards with a margin punch decore it on both sides

1. Vai marcar os furos onde vai coser as folhas de cartolina do seguinte modo: comece por encontrar o centro dessa tira de papel (4 cm de largura) e marque o primeiro furo a uma altura de 2,7cm contados a partir do limite inferior e o segundo furo a 5,4cm.

1. Mark the holes where you are going to sew the cardstock pages this way: start by finding the middle of the piece of paper and mark the first whole at a 2,7 cm distance from the lower edge and the second whole at 5,4 cm.

2. Repita este procedimento a partir do limite superior.

2. Repeat this procedure for the upper limit.

3. Agora conte para a direita de cada um desses furos iniciais 0,5cm e faça um furo; novamente a 0,5cm deste ultimo e faça segundo furo. Repita este procedimento para a esquerda de todos os furos centrais. No final  terá um total de 10 furos em cima e 10 furos em baixo.

3. Now count to the right of each one of these wholes 0,5 cm and make a whole. make a nother again at 0,5 cm from this last one. Repeat this procedure to the left of all the central wholes. In the end you should have a total of 10 wholes up and down.

4. Em cada uma das folhas de cartolina que dobrou a meio, vai contar e furar sobre o eixo da dobra tal como fez nos passos 1 e 2.

4. On each cardstock page you folded in half, count and make wholes on the central edge as you have done on steps 1 and 2.

5. Cosa cada uma das folhas de cartolina à folha que tem os furos, com twine. Comece por passar a agulha num furo superior da folha e depois na cartolina. Cole a ponta do fio com fita cola atrás do papel. O fio passa para o furo imediatamente abaixo e avança para a folha seguinte, desta vez de baixo para cima e assim sucessivamente. Quando todas as folhas de cartolina estiverem cosidas, cole o seu “miolo” de álbum através do papel à lombada de cartão da sua capa, com fita cola de dupla face.

5. Stitch each one of the cradstock pages to the page with the holes, using twine for that purpose. Start by passing a needle on the upper part of the page and then on the cardstock. Glue the end of the twine with scotch tape behind the paper. The thread then goes to the whole bellow and then to the next sheet of paper and so on. When all the papges are stitched together, glue this to the spine of the album with double sided tape.

6. Agora só lhe resta decorar cada página ao seu gosto, com auxílio de cortantes, punches e recortes das figuras que fazem parte da coleção. Embeleze alguns elementos com pedrinhas decorativas (jewels) e com fitas coloridas. Os tags para fotos têm as dimensões de 12cm de largura por 14 cm de altura.

6. Now you just have to decorate each page as you like, using dies, punches and fussy cut pieces from the paper line. Embelish each element with jewels and ribbon. The tags for photos have 12x14 cm.

Por último e fundamental, a meia bola de luz com pilha. * Last but not least, a half ball of light with battery.

Instruções * How to proceed:
1º Corte uma vez no papel vegetal o círculo escalopado maior e faça a textura em formato de naperon. Cut the vellum once with the large scalloped circle and give it texture using the doily design.
2º Corte uma vez no papel de scrapbooking com a Decorative strip Snowflake rosette e monte a roseta. Cut the Snowflake rosette once with scrapbooking paper and assemble it.
3º Corte no Framelit Frame o floco de neve maior. Cut the big framelit snowflake with red scrapbooking paper.

Cole tudo conforme vê na imagem e aplique uma fita para pendurar. * Glue everything together and apply some ribbon to hang!

Cupcake, anyone?

Bom Feriado para todos! Neste dia chuvoso, aqui fica um projecto vindo da Sizzix! E para a semana já teremos este maravilhoso e muito aguardado cortante numa loja perto de si!

Good morning everyone! Around here the rain is pouring hard so nothing better then a sweet project done by Sizzix! And next week this die will be available in a store next to you!

Material necessário * Supplies needed
- Sizzix L die Cupcake holder, 658008
- Cardstock, scrapbooking paper
- Distress ink pads

Usando o cortante, corte o cupcake usando papel de scrapbooking e trabalhe as bordas com Distress Ink pads. Adicione cartolina no interior de modo a decorar as aberturas que ficam perfuradas. Monte o cupcake holder e finalize colocando um lindo cupcake dentro!

Using the die, cut the cupcake holder out of patterned paper and ink around the edges with a distress ink pad of your choice. Add some cardstock to the inside so the openings stay colored and decorated. Assemble the cupcake holder and finalize it with a beautiful cupcake on the inside!

Como fazer
- Imprima a sua fotografia e use o coração de verga como molde para aparar a fotografia até esta estar com o tamanho correcto. Cole-a à parte de trás do coração.
- Corte uma série de flores Poinsettia, de tamanhos diferentes, de cardstock cor creme e utilizando a textura com o mesmo motivo, faça o embossing em cada uma das peças. Utilize uma Distrees ink pad castanha clara e dê movimento às pétalas gentilmente com uma dobradeira.
- Monte cada flor individualmente, sobrepondo para isso os diferentes tamanhos das pétalas e colando-as com esponjas 3D. Decore o centro de cada flor com mini pérolas adesivas e cole-as ao coração de verga. Por último, prenda um pouco de twine na parte de trás do coração para que possa pendurar a moldura.

How to:
- Print your Photograph and use the wicker heart as a template to trim it to the correct size before attaching to the rear of the heart.
- Die cut a selection of different sizes of poinsettia from ivory cardstock and emboss each one after cutting. Use light brown distress inks to bring out the detail and gently curl the petals.
- Assemble the individual flowers by overlapping the petals and attaching together with 3D foam pads. Decorate the centres with adhesive pearl gems and mount onto the frame before attaching a double length of Twine to the rear.

Inspiração para o fim de semana * Inspiration for the weekend

É sexta feira e por isso com o fim de semana quase à porta, porque não preparar tudo para fazer um caderno personalizado? Vai precisar de um miolo de caderno, 2 capas de cartão, uma tira de bristol para a lombada, tecido e claro está, o alfabeto Word play da Sizzix (657837).

It's friday today and with the weekend starting in a few days, why not set everything up so you can make this delicious notebook? You are going to need 2 cardboard covers, a bit of chipboard for the spine, fabric and of course Sizzix alphabet word play (657837).

Bandolete com flores * Flower headband

Boa segunda feira! Para começar bem a semana aqui fica um pequeno projecto....sem papel! É uma bandolete que poderá fazer aproveitando restos de cabedal. O que vai precisar? Pois bem: uma bandolete de metal lisa, retalhos de cabedal, fio de camurça, ataches, cola de contacto transparente, Sizzix Big shot machine, cortante de flores (por exemplo o 657920 ou 657921) e o cortante de círculos (framelits 657551).

Comece por enrolar o fio de camurça na bandolete. Depois, corte as flores na Big shot, com o cabedal da cor que escolheu. Com cola de contacto, cole os diferentes tamanhos de flores umas nas outras e depois fure todas as camadas no centro, colocando de seguida um atache. Só falta depois colar a flor à bandolete, também com cola de contacto e colocar na parte de baixo da flor um círculo de cabedal (também cortado na big shot) para ficar com um acabamento bonito. Divertido, não? Pois então, mãos à obra!

Happy Monday everyone! To get the week started here is a small project made.....without paper! It's a headband that you can easily make with leather leftovers. You are going to need the following: a metal headband, leather, suede thread, brads, contact glue, Sizzix big shot machine, flower dies (such as  657920 or 657921) and a circle die (framelits 657551).
Begin by winding the suede thread around the headband. Cut the flowers of your choice with the big shot machine and using contact glue, join them together, layer by layer. make a hole thru the different layers in the center and place a brad. Afterwards you just have to glue  the flower to the headband, again with contact glue and place a leather circle beneath it so it stays perfectly finished. Fun and simple, right? So get to work now and enjoy!

Quilting Dies

Inspire-se nesta manta feita com restinhos de tecidos. Para os cortar, nada melhor do que utilizar o cortante 657607 da Sizzix! Parecendo que não são precisos 196 quadrados!

Get inspired by this quilt made with scraps of fabric. To cut them out, nothing better than to use Sizzix die 657607! It takes 196 squares to be completed!

Vintage Cabinet Box

A designer da Sizzix publicou no Blog este tutorial explicando como se pode construir uma pequena arca utilizando o cortante Vintage Cabinet card do Tim Holtz (ref. 657217). THE VINTAGE CABINET BOX

I will be perfectly honest. As much as I love this die and its possibilities, this idea was originated by Patricia Villa Boas, the Portugal distributor of Sizzix and the organizer of Chocolate Quente, the event where I taught this project. But with her permission granted, I can share it with all here. Beware it is a picture heavy post.


All measurements are in inches as it is easier for this project. the funny thing was that I originally did it all in inches, then thinking that in Portugal all would be in centimetres I translated the measurement, leaving in the UK the inches. First class, they wanted all measurements in inches so a quick change was needed. But of course, the next class was mostly in centimetres with a few inches people. By the end all measurements created a bit of a headache on my maths challenged brain!


So on we go!
You will need to begin with a full 12 x 12" piece of card. For the tutorial, I am using one of my favourite lines from Teresa Collins called Everyday Moments.

Cut the 12 x 12" in to two 6 x 12".

One of them trim 1 1/2" off the bottom -not including the white strip!)

Then score it at 3 3/4" from the left edge.

Score at 3" from the other score line - or at 6 3/4" from the left edge if it is any easier.

Take the other 6 x 12"  and trim it in half (so that you get two 6 x 6"). Then die cut them using the Vintage Cabinet Card. I always put the front of the card facing down towards the foam, unless I need the die cut to be flipped.

Then, score both cabinet card (one at a time) from the inside corner towards the bottom of the die cut.

Do the same at the other side of the card.

Then, score the bottom by following the inner corners.

Cut the small bit between score line so that you can create a small bit to tuck in.

Then glue the bits to the scored bottom.

Like this. Remember to do the same to both die cut Vintage Cabinet Card.

Then, attach one of the card to the middle of the scored card.

Then attached the second die cut card.

Then glue the sides. I always use wet glue (Tacky Glue, PVA or Glossy Accents) as dry glue (any sort of tape) tends to dry out and eventually the whole things comes unstuck.

I use magnets to make sure that the glue bonds properly. But they are not essential, a good grip with your fingers will be ok!

Then add a line of your choice of strong wet glue along the back of the box.

And attach a piece of card that is 6 x 6". Let it dry completely before attempting to fold it.

 

Opened and closed. To close just tuck the top inside the box.

To add decorative elements, I die cut the strips from the Vintage Lace.

And I just attached one of the them to the front edge of the box. It will reinforce the box as well as make it it prettier.

Once finished it can be used to store the Texture Embossing folders or other stuff.


Also, you can made this box wider, just start with a card that instead of being 6 x 12" is say 8 x 12", 10 x 12" or even 12 x 12". You will still have to trim the 1 1/2" from the bottom and score it at 3 3/4" and 6 3/4". And the cover will have to be 8 x 6" or 10 x 6". However I do think that the covert may come undone more easily if the box is wider.
