Tubo de Ensaio: Cheri Piles

O natal está já tão, tão pertinho! Mas ainda temos tempo para uns projectos finais! Por isso aqui fica esta deliciosa Árvore de Natal pelas mãos da Cheri Piles, uma das design team members da Teresa Collins!

Christmas is just so, so close! But there is still time for some final projects! So here it is this delicious Christma tree by the hands of Cheri Piles, one of Teresa Collins design team members!

"Adoro fazer estas pequenas rosetas, é um vício! Elas ficam fantásticas em presentes e podem fazê-las tão grandes ou tão pequenas como gostarem. Não há regras!
Eu começo por usar um cortante circular mas não é absolutamente necessário- Seria provavelmente mais fácil e rápido desenhar os círculos e cortá-los com uma tesoura decorativa.

"I love making these little rosettes - it's an addiction, they look great on gifts and you can make them as big or small as you would like! There really are no rules!
I start with using a circle cutter but you don't have to - it would probably be easier and less steps to trace the circle then cut it with your decorative scissors.

Primeiro passo- *Corte o círculo e depois uma espiral, usando uma tesoura decorativa, como se vê no topo da imagem.
Segundo passo- TOTALMENTE OPCIONAL- Escureça as bordas com Distress ink pads.
Terceiro passo- Começando de fora para dentro, enrole a flor. Quando começa a enrolar escolha qual é o padrão que quer que fique para dentro. Quando chega ao centro esta torna-se na base onde iremos colar e assentar a flor.
Quarto passo- Eu uso cola quente, porque funciona melhor e é mais rápido mas pode usar a sua cola preferida para este efeito. É só pressionar 10 segundos e já está colada!
* vai precisar de 4 tamanhos diferentes- grande, médio, pequeno e muito pequeno para o topo da árvore.

Step one - *cut your circle, then cut in a spiral shape using decorative scissors as shown in the top photo.
Step two - TOTALLY OPTIONAL - Ink the edges
Step three - Starting with the outside working your way to the center roll it up. When you start rolling you want the pattern on the "inside" of the roll. When you reach the center, it becomes the "shelf" where you will apply your glue.
Step four - I use hot glue, this just works best for me but you can try your favorite glue and see if it works. Then just press and hold all the layers into the glue for about... 10 seconds or so.
* - you will need to make about 4 sizes - big, medium, small and a few extra small for the tip top of the tree.

Para fazer a árvore vai precisar de muitas flores, por isso aqui fica a minha dica: Corte à mão ou com uma máquina (porque não usar a Sizzix big shot) os seus círculos de todos os papéis e depois pegar numa daquelas mesas de colocar nos joelhos e sentar-se na sua cadeira mais confortável à frente da televisão enquanto vê o seu filme de Natal preferido, enquanto escurece, enrola e cola as flores. Vai ver que parece tudo muito mais rápido!

To make the tree you are going to need to make a bunch of these. So here's my TIP: Trace or cut your circles from all of your papers then grab a lap table and go sit in your comfy chair and watch your favorite Christmas movie while you ink, roll and glue, it makes the time go wayyyyyy faster!

Passo 5- Encha o cone com espuma ou tecido.
Passo 6- Corte um círculo de cartão um pouco mais largo que a base do cone, desenhe neste um círculo ligeiramente mais pequeno que a base do cone e faça pequenos cortes da extremidade até este círculo interior, de 2 em 2 cm aproximadamente.
Passo 7- Desenhe onde vai colar o suporte para velas na base exterior do cone (mas só a cole no final!).
Passo 8- Cole a base ao cone, colando para isso os pequenos cortes no interior do cone. Quando terminar cole o suporte de vela à base mas certificando-se que tudo está centrado! Não fica lindo?

The photo on the left is just a little sampling of the supplies I used and only about half of the flowers. I bought the tree cone at Ben Franklin Crafts along with the candle stick holder.
Step 5 - Fill your cone with foam or tissue.
Step 6 - Cut a circle from chipboard a little wider then your base of the cone, trace a circle a little smaller than your base onto your chipboard. Every inch or so cut triangles into the inner circle.
Step 7 - Trace where you will glue your tree onto your candlestick holder (Glue it on very, very last)
Step 8 - Glue the tabs to the inside of the cone evenly so your candlestick holder and tree will stand evenly when completed - you really don't want to go to all of this work and have a lopsided tree.

Passo 9- Para ser mais fácil, alinhei as flores em linhas, da maior para a mais pequena.

Passo 10- Se tiver uma fita, cole-a agora no fundo da árvore.

Passo 11- Começando do fundo para cima, comece por colar as flores grandes, alternando as cores à medida que vai colando.

Step 9 - I am kind of an assembly worker I guess, I lined up all of my flowers in rows big to small.
Step 10 - If you have decorative ribbon or trim adhere it to the bottom of your tree now.
Step 11 - Starting at the bottom, using big flowers start gluing, alternating the flower colors as you go.

Vai precisar de: duas folhas de cada da colecção Christmas Cottage (eu acabei por não usar na totalidade a segunda folha, num total de 10 folhas). O meu cone tinha 11" de altura e cortei 9 rosetas com 3", 6 rosetas com 2 1/4", 6 rosetas com 1 3/4" e uma com 1 3/8" para o topo."

Supplies used: Two sheets of each from the CHRISTMAS COTTAGE collection 10 sheets total for a big cone: Doily Tree back, Medallion, Red Snowflakes back, Sentiments back, Music. (I didn't quite use all of the 2nd sheet from each one it was just about 1/2 of the 2nd page)
Depending on the size of cone you have will determine how many rosettes you will need, it will also depend on how big or small you cut your rosettes.
My cone was 11" tall. I cut 9 - 3", 6 - 2 1/4", 6 1 3/4", 1 3/8" for the top."

PS - the name of the scissors I used was "bounce" - There is not a manufacturer's name on them, or I've rubbed it off from use.

Lunch bag using Vintage Finds

"Adoro fazer estas pequenas e divertidas lancheiras que já se fazem à anos e anos mas como adoro esta colecção de papel queria muito fazer uma lancheira com ela!

"I love making these fun little lunch bags. People have been making these or something similar for ages, I love this collection so much I wanted to make a new one!

Usei os seguintes papéis da colecção Vintage Finds para a frente e para trás: Bingo tiles e Black Damask. Depois sobrepus os papéis em cima do Orange Damask (2 folhas) com o lado preto e branco para o interior.

I used the following papers from the Vintage Finds Collection for the front, back, sides and bottom: Bingo, Titles, Black Damask. Then I layered them onto the Orange Damask (2 sheets) showing the black and white side for the interior.

Papel com os títulos- eu cortei 4 linhas e recortei com decoração ao longo da quarta linha (para ficar do mesmo tamanho que os cartões de bingo). Depois cortei tiras do papel de bingo (usei Friends, Beautiful e Charming para um lado e Story, Life e Blessed para o outro). Usei Home and Love para os lados. O papel Black damask cortei em duas tiras com a mesma largura do cartão de bingo.

Titles paper - I cut 4 rows down and fussy cut along the 4th row (trim to the same width as the Bingo cards). Then I cut strips from the Bingo paper - I used Friends, Beautiful, & Charming for one side and Story, Life, Blessed on the other. I used Home and Love for the sides. Black Damask I cut strips 2 x the width of the bingo cards.

Depois sobrepus os papéis como se vê em cima. Do papel Orange damask, corte 8 1/2 x 9 1/4 (x2) , 8 1/2 x 3 1/4 (x2) e uma tira de 9 1/4 x 3 1/4. Escureça a toda à volta. Eu usei o Gathered Twigs distress pad do Tim Holtz porque adoro como se mistura com as cores desta colecção.

Then layer them together as shown above. Cut the Orange Damask 8 1/2 x 9 1/4 (x2) , 8 1/2 x 3 1/4 (x2), and one strip 9 1/4 x 3 1/4. Ink around all of the edges. I used Tim Holtz Gathered twigs, I love how it blends so well with the colors in this collection.

Once you have all of your layers put together put them into laminating sheets. For this project I used self sealing sheets from my local office supply store.

Measure where you want your handles BEFORE (that's a tip ;) you add any trim around the top edge. Trim around the sides of all of your edges leaving a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the laminating sheets around all of your edges except your top.

Utilizando um sistema de colocação espiral à sua escolha, fure os lados do papel laminado e cosa-as umas às outras utilizando o fio que faz conjunto com estes papéis.

Using a binding system of your choice punch holes in the edges and stitch all of your pieces together using the twine from the Trims package.

Cut even lengths of the cream ribbon to use as your handles. To attach your handles put a brad through the hole you punched earlier and poke it through the end of the ribbon then bend your brads back and they will hold your handles. Mind you - this is for a light lunch, I wouldn't suggest putting a lot of heavy weight in it.

Depois pode começar a decorar a frente do saco. Eu adoro o medalhão desta colecção! Usando um cortante, personalizei a lancheira com o meu nome! Depois adicionei uns botões, flores, um dos relógios que faz parte desta colecção e algumas palavras inspiradoras do papel Word labels."

Then you can start embellishing the front of your bag. I love the medallion with the bling. Using a punch I personalized it with my name! I added some more buttons, flowers, a clock from the clocks paper and some inspirational words from the "Word Labels" paper."

Pocket full of Sunshine with Carolina Breeze papers

Corte duas peças do papel McKay da colecção Carolina Breeze com 6"x9". Cole cada uma das peças à parte da frente e de trás das suas capas de chipboard com a mesma medida. Corte os papéis Miranda, Myrla, Gentry, Taylor e Nellie com 8"x11 1/2" cada um. Dobre cada um deles ao meio e cole, costas com costas, aplicando cola somente nos lados e fundo. O topo deve ficar sem nada para criar um bolso. Usando um cortante ou punch circular com 1 1/2", faça uma abertura, meio circulo, em cada bolso, na parte superior.

Cut McKay, from Carolina Breeze paper line paper to two pieces of 6x9. Adhere each piece to the front and back covers. Cut Miranda, Myrla, Gentry, Taylor and Nellie to 8 x 11 ½” each. Fold each in half and adhere back to back only putting adhesive on the sides and bottom. Leave the top open to create pocket. Using 1 ½” circle punch, punch a half circle on the front of each pocket.

Pegue numa peça de papel Nellie e corte-a até ficare com 4"x8". Dobre-a em seguida. Adicione a peça dobrada à primeira página para criar um bolso.

Take 4"x12" piece of Nellie and cut in down to 4 x 8. Score at ½” and fold. Adhere small fold to page 1 to creat a flap.

Fold white envelop in half. Tuck flap inside. Adhere right side (with opening) to page 4. Cut Kayla to 6 x 9, fold in half, adhere to the inside of the envelope fold.

Corte o papel Shelley para 4"X12". Vinque a 5 3/4" e dobre. Dobre o lado maior para o interior do vinco. Cole em cima e em baixo para criar um bolso. Cole esta peça inteira na página 8.

Cut Shelley to 4 x 12. Score at 5 ¾” and fold. Fold larger side to the inside crease. Apply adhesive to open edge and bottom. This will create a pocket. Adhere whole piece to page 8. You will have a flapping pocket from small folded piece.

Pegue numa peça com 4"x6" de Myrla e vinque a 1 1/2". Agrafe esta dobre para fechar. Dobre o outro lado para dentro do lado agrafdo. Isto vai criar uma caixa de fósforos. Cole na página 9.

Take 4 x 6 piece of Myrla and score at 1 ½”. Staple this fold down close to the edge. Fold other side into the stapled fold. This will create a matchbook. Adhere to page 9.

Repeat steps with Miranda 4 x 12 as you did with Shelley 4 x 12. Adhere to page 12. Adhere a tag to the back side of the inside pages. Then adhere the inside pages to the inside of the front and back covers. Decorate pages as seen in pictures.
